I would like to know what is the recommended caulk to use when sealing around ductwork?

Duct mastic. You can find it in the aisle that the filters are on at home depot or lowes. I've seen it in gallon buckets or in caulking tubes. Industry standard for sealing ducts. Just make sure you apply it liberally and don't miss anything. Good luck

DP-1010, Glen-Kote, Pookie, Just some of the names you can use to ask for it. Get a chip brush if you find it. You will need it to apply it. I personally don't like the tubes.
