can you count, try it I see 5 conservative and 4 liberal

Ginsberg: very liberal, consistently votes against the conservatives

    Breyer: consistently liberal

Sotomayor: consistently votes with the progressive bloc

Kagan: expected centrist-progressive, no record of jurisprudence

Kennedy: the swing vote; considered a conservative; sometimes votes with the liberal faction

    Alito: consistently conservative

    Roberts: consistently conservative

    Scalia: extremely conservative

    Thomas: extremely conservative

Thomas is more conservative than Scalia.

Elena Kagan's first Term of the Court will be 2010.

Who are you and Wiki trying to fool by claiming that any Kennedy can be considered a conservative? Only a flaming not-a-steer from Texas would ever consider Justice Kennedy a conservative.

I guess that confirms what I always said about Ronald Reagan. A conservative would never appoint a liberal

Why not? Conservatives are more for letting people rule themselves, so conservatives appoint who is best to do a job. Liberals always have it in their heads that they need to rule the people because the people are too stupid to rule themselves. For that reason, liberals only appoint other liberals in order to gain more power over the masses.

Judging by how many Americans, dead and alive, vote for liberals, it seems they may be right about us being too stupid to take care of ourselves.

Only your "from Texas, but not a steer" mind could come up with that

Well, Reagan appointed Kennedy and I can't seem to remember a long drawn out confirmation from Repubs being against him.

All that means is that President Reagan felt that Kennedy was a good fit for the job, regardless of his being liberal or conservative. No liberal president would have regarded Kennedy because he is not a flaming liberal, but the liberals in Congress had no valid reason to oppose him.

That is why President Reagan is one of the best presidents in American history.
