I just bought a house and just my luck the Heatilator fireplace (pre fab) fire box pan looks cracked and also melted.

Where can I buy a new (cement???) fire box bottom for this unit?

    Exclamation tech support

Go to http://www.heatilator.com and ask for help. Have your model # and serial # with mfg. date code, all of which can be found on the rating plate near the opening of the Fp.

You should have an NFPA Level II inspection performed. You said melted--I hope you are just referring to one being heavily used. If it is actually melted, someone was running a 3000F incinerator in there!

FYI, it is called the hearth refractory.

    Thanks Heartman but another question...

NFPA Level II inspection performed... How do I get this done?

I'm down in Ga. but near S.C.

Thanks a million. I can't go back to the previous owner and ask questions since they are long gone.

    sweep locators

You can check out http://www.csia.org for Certified Chimney Sweeps. You can also Google the SC Chimney Sweep Guild for a list of members and contact info. Not sure if Gawjah has a Guild.

What area are you located in? Up towards Greenville, SC or down towards Savannah? I used to sweep in SC.
