Lux are some of the lowest quality cheep junk thermostats on the market.
If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

We sold them for a while due to low cost. Many were replaced afterwards because they fail.
    We no longer sell them.

I had a Lux TX9000 Touch Screen for about 5 months.
It worked just fine with my old single stage equipment.

I bought it bacause C.R. had Lux thermostats rated higher than Honeywells
and the "Best Buy" LUX TX9000 was tops.

In the real world, I have learned that Lux have a poor reputation:
low quality and high failure rate.

I've since replaced the Lux with a Honeywell Vision Pro.

Don't have one and don't plan on having one. I have to ask though. If LUX thermostats are really that terrible, how can they stay in business? If you consistently produce a bad product you won't be in business long.

thnks for the responses- Think I'll go with the Honeywell. Guy at the home improv. store said a lot of contractors are coming in and buying the Lux- But maybe that is because they are cheaper.

We tried Lux for awhile and all I can say about them is

    Lux Sux.
We've been doing so much, for so long, with so little, that now we can do almost anything, with nothing at all.

Words spoken from a highly intelligent man!

I stand by this principle also.

I have been out to homes where the heat would NOT shut off. Problem... LUX stat!

I don't know many QUALITY contractors that would go buy their stats at a retail (discount) store!

The truck us "quality" contractors use is to sell systems that no thermostat at Home Chepo is capable of running.
If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

In a perfect world, this would be true.

The real world is jam packed full of products that are complete garbage, yet remain popular because there are more than enough price shoppers, that don't understand real value, to keep them going.
