Dot-ism, if you will, is an interesting concept. It says you are a slave to the extent that you allow government to extort taxes and use the revenues for its own purposes. There is truth in this.

But to take anti-dot-ism to the extreme, as Larken Rose seems to be suggesting, is to advocate anarchy. If I understand his message correctly, Larken Rose would have us ignore the social contract we have with our government.

    See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_contract

I agree that government has too much power and influence over our lives, and that we are the ones who have to change it. I agree that some outside-the-box thinking is required, and that some radical changes need to be made if we are going to get out of this mess any time soon.

I agree that we are not nearly as free as we pretend to be.

But a permanent ban on government won't solve anything.

We have power, and there are ways we can use our power to achieve results. Some of the ways to use our power have never been applied. If we come to the conclusion that voting in elections is not effective, we can vote with our feet and our wallets. If we want to make something happen, we can do it, and we can do it without scrapping the Republic.

I agree... scrapping the republic is NOT an option.

Seems my observations of human nature show: Folks will do a fraction of what they talk about: If someone says they will clean up the yard... Maybe talking in extremes will motivate folks to take a few steps in the direction of telling that little dot they serve the people, not the other way around.

Off to earn some more $$$ to give to the little dot...

There sure does seem to be a contingent of christian conservlicans that are anti-constitutionalists.

The Good Book says, Give unto Ceasar that which is Ceasars, I guess the messenger was wrong on that one.

It's pretty difficult to give to Caesar when he chases businesses out of town and leaves a trail of unemployment behind them.

Does that really have anything to do with it? The dollars you chase have dead Presidents on them. They are from government aand government wants part of it back so you can operate your business on tax payer funded roads.

The Government builds the road you drive on to do your work. If the Government does not build the road, then a private business might or might not build the roads. If they do, there is a toll that has to be paid . It's happening here in Texas right now.

Now imagine if asw soon as you backed out of your drive , it cost you a couple of bucks, then a few more dollars everytime you turned onto a different road. So yea, I'd say the government gives you money.

It also says to give unto God what is God's in the next sentence... Taking Scripture out of context is not a wise thing to do Ace... If God has a lightning bolt in His hand... it might get pointed at you...

From what I read... toll roads are managed a lot better than govt roads... and they make $$$;rather than waste $$$.

As far as I can tell... nobody is arguing with the need for some govt services... What is being questioned is massive govt services that do not help ALL of society.

Now Ace... please explain to me how paying folks to not work helps society... as in welfare checks, farm subsidies, endless $$$ dumped into education that is producing dumber and dumber students... the list goes on and on and on and on and on...

Seems to me when private enterprise takes things over... they work better with less $$$ spent.

    Care to comment there Ace?
