Sanyo mini split?

Looked at a Sanyo that was not keeping the small server room cool enough.
Indoor m/n ks1215 s/n 0070311
outdoor m/n cl1251 s/n 0021813
Pressure's would fluctuate from 70-78
Line temp at service valve was 47-50
outdoor air temp 73
cond. leaving air 85
evap entering air 80-82 and 67 w/b
evap discharge air 60-62
When i disconnected my guage from the serv. port i found brown/rusty stinky oil from hose. So i grab a 6" hose with ball valve and a rag and crack the valve a few times only to find this nasty oil/refer oozing from the port. Spoke with Sanyo and am going back 2maro to flush lines, try to add a f/d between the cond. outlet and captube and charge with virgin r-22. Anythoughts?

Reclaim... flush... evac and factory charge new ref to name plate . should buy time. Serviced Sanyo that had that stuff, goo I call it , not working any more . Made it one season . also 10 yr old. If that helps .

Sorry cart before horse. Had no cooling trouble . 3 hours with on phone service cause I was baffled (and so were they) and that was the consensus ,clean it out and see what happens. I presonally hate that answer but "it is what it is " I'm told.

Need to verify if oil is bad? if its old unit that should be mineral oil, I woudl rx11 flush system out, sporalan dryers, use flare connectors and iso valves if possible for changes. retest again. LOTS of work for tinny system. Also pressure are of no concern according the factory, they want temperatures taken everywhere, air TD, subcooling, superheats etc. WEIGH in the charge mark it down.

I've had a few Fujitsu, Daikin and Toshiba R22 mini splits with similar oil and restriction problems.

The Toshiba got replaced as the oil gets in the strainers which they have in both the indoor and outdoor units and blocks them, it was a cassette so cheaper to replace than fix.

Both the Fujitsu and Daikin ones i replaced the filter/strainer thats just before the cap tube in the outdoor unit with a sporlan 032-S. The Daikin one is still working 8 years later despite having been moved twice.

The Fujitsu one you could blow through with nitrogen and there was no restriction but as soon as it had refrigerant in it blocked up again until we put a propper drier in place of the copper spun originally fitted.

I wonder if poor install and comissioning caused the bad oil?

It had to a poor install... I reclaimed the nasty refer, flushed with nitro an refer then installed a f/d on the cond. outlet right before the captube m/d. Seems to be running good. thanx for the replies guys..
