    Ceiling Mount Air Handlers

    Question...

Who else makes a ceiling mount air handler other than Goodman's ACNF?

I'm doing a bid on 8 apartments and would like to entertain using something such as that, but just curious about it's competition from similar models and I can't think of any off hand.

mitsubishi , daikin , fujitsu and most of the mini split manufactures make ceiling units , 8 apartments consider vrv , low noise , high seer , small footprint , hmmmm . ok if you had one outdoor unit for the 8 apartments may be an issue of who pays for the energy bill, but that could be overcome .

    Ha,

Yeah these are more like "projects" as much as I'd like to look at using mini-splits I don't think the owner would pony up.

I believe all the VRV/VRF systems through their more sophisticated controllers can monitor PPD (Proportional Power Distribution) so that individual tenants/users can be billed.

First Company probably has the biggest selection of those little apartment air handlers.

That would be great if he was looking for a mini split. He's after one of these:

I think Goodman makes the best "niche" products honestly. And this falls under that category. First Co. is ok. But are difficult to deal with sometimes. A lot of places that distribute for them don't stock parts. It's easier to get Goodman parts. I also like their through the wall units.
I like DIY'ers. They pay better to fix.

I consulted my TM from Bryant and he suggested First Company as well but also said Goodman would more likely beat their price.

The apartment owner didn't go for it anyway so we're back on regular air handlers.

The ground level apartments all have package units with duct work under the floor but it's too low for new ducts to be installed to pass current code. The solution was to use those ceiling mount air handlers and fur downs...
