If you have a cased coil, where should the humifier be mounted? Mine is on the cased coil itself. The contractor made a comment that made me think the location was less than ideal. Should it be a certain distance above the coil? Should it be above the cased coil on the ductwork?
Any problems with the humidifier on the cased coil? Humidifier is an aprilaire 700 power unit.

They are typicaly mounted downstream of the coil. Refer to the installation manual they are quite specific on locations.

I don't have the install manual. Why is the humidifier downstream of the coil? With the height of the cased coil there is not much room to place the humidifier above the case of the coil.

I mount power humidifiers on the casing of the coil also if there is no room any where else, it would be the same if there was just an A-coil with a plenum built around it, no big deal.
