    Hmm

How about a 12x12 room in or out of your house for a safe room? I think I could build one for under $5000.

It might be a good idea to stock it with a dictionary so you can learn how to spell "evacuation" and other useful terms during your spare time.

At least you know the difference between "to" and "too".

This very idea is on the top of my priority list. I was outside walking around in the 120 mph winds. A cinder block, steel, and concrete reinforced bunker would do the trick. Also a duel fuel generator good for 2 weeks would be on the top of the material list. My neighbor across the street and I are the only ones that have any type of generators in the entire neighborhood. We swapped off looter duty last night. Tried to get out yesterday and drive around the town. With all the trees and lines down, that was impossible. There are 2800 national guard due here today. No power until tuesday. I'm on generator and dial-up gettin this post written.

    rob10........

I surprised that you have phone service. I lost mine for at least a week for both Frances and Jeanne last year and it hasn't been the same since. Do you have cellular service at all. I didn't get cell phone service at home for over a month.

    Here's a link to FEMA's safe-room info and plans:

Maybe you can replace your lost outbuilding with one of these.
