Advice: If your compensation structure is going to be straight commission, be sure it is set up based on the 'sell' price, and not the 'profit.' If the company has established a sell price and that is what you market, then that is how you should be paid. If it is based on profit, you have very little control over how that job comes in, whether service OR construction. Unless you sell it, install it, service it, and perform warranty on it, then you should be compensated on the sell price.
