I dont have it in my own home but working in attic's with radiant barrier's always seem to be quite a bit cooler than the ones that do not, so I think they work okay. at least flat top and open ridge.

I have the ridge cap type ventilation on my home. I have a 2 story home with a large attic space. My roof pitch is a 12-12. So, I have alot of roof sq footage. Looks like it will cost me around 400 bucks to install. Just thought I would ask here before I spent the time and money on it. Also. I am in extremme south Georgia and it gets real hot here in the warm months. Broke 100 yesterday.

Randy G. Yes it is worth the money, there are for your application tw o different types of radiant barrier. One is a paint on and one is a foil material. I have the paint on my place and I applied the foil material to my fathers attic. I dont have numbers but 400 and you cant go wrong. For your attic I would go with the foil. My attic is tight which is why I went with the paint

12/12 pitch, seems like it would require some scaffolding or something.
But it works i recommend it all the time , the new house i'm working on now has the foil backed plywood thanks to me. Builder did not mention the option to the home owner who thanked me for recommending such a easy efficient upgrade before the roof was installed.
