Rotory Compressors

For years we have cooled our compressors with suction gas and fans, I supposed this may have been an old question but still goes un-answered for me. Here it goes: Why do rotory compressors discharge their hot gas into the casing and what cools those hot windings? Can someone elaborate!

The discharge gas cools the motor windings.
