I know this is against the rules, but I feel a need to help out some of these people who feel that HVAC work is for imbeciles and anyone can do it.
* Open window.
* Take unit out of box.
* Stick unit in window.
* Secure unit to window frame.
* Close window onto unit.
* Seal openings around unit.
* Plug unit into wall recepticle.
* Set thermostat to desired temperature.
* Turn on unit.

Yeah, that will be OK, only problem is you only get 1/4 the cooling! However, twisting vertical to horizontal should be fun though, do only late on 4th of July or NY eve. <G>Originally posted by drk

edit whoops, should say 1/8 the cooling before someone corrects that typo.

Hey, RoBo, should I first plug the unit into a surge protector before plugging it into the wall?
WHY?

* Which window?
* Where'd the unit come from, Santa?
* Will not fit.
* It'll get stolen away.
* Won't this crush the unit?
* Seal, don't you need a fresh air intake?
* Can I plug it into the TV cable jack?
* But it's not hooked up to the unit!
* I did but it won't run.
Now what?

I followed your directions, but it's just blowing really hot air into my house, all of the cool air is going outside. Are we doing this to offset global warming?
