Einstein controller oil sep alarm
worked on a small rack system today with a einstein controller,
had a oil SEP alarm, checked oil separator gauge on filter was good, all compressors oil safetys were not tripped, and sight glasses were good, normal status and all circuit temps were fine and not alarming.
just wondering what would may of cause this controller to alarm even though things appear to be normal.
I'm just learning on this controller. Ive seen controllers before monitoring and send out alarms and things are okay.

Is this a Temprite separator and the guage you said looked good is is the pressure differential indicator?

It was a temprite separator and the pressure differential indication was between the green.
wasn't even close to yellow or red.

Honestly, I'd just replace the separator element.

I'm curious about this....can someone explain,I have not seen this type myself.
I'm guessing from reading the post, the gauge will sense a diff. in press. and will indicate this on the dial by indicating yellow or red depending upon the diff. in press. indicating a clogged element.
and then this is also connected to a digital input in the Einstein controller?
I commonly see Henry separators and turbashed. but not this ,yet, anyway.

A temprite separator has a paper element inside. Like any filter element, the filter loading is measured by pressure drop.
A pressure drop of around 10# is threatening to burst.
I've found 2 burst elements this year.
They make a little diff pressure switch the does hook to a controller for alarming. That is why I asked the first question.

I have seen them with a D.I. to an input...I think that's fancy and neato.
I second the sep service.
