    Red face Basic trouble shooting

Need to check low voltage circuit, 24 volts was shorted to each other after the weedwacker had it's fun.

Furnace check transformer/3/5amp fuse sometimes will blow on the control board. If not check the blue and yellow wire from transformer to see if you have 24 volts.

1)Fix wires to outdoor unit; tape or replace.
2)Line Voltage to furnace or air handler.
    3)transformer 24 volts control circuit.

If you're an apprentice in the HVAC business then you should be able to trace your power source. Do you have tools and meters? If you have a meter, start checking power, see if you have high voltage at the furnace. If you do then start tracing your low voltage. From what little you wrote it really sounds like you most likely reconnected your low voltage wrong or if it is correct when you reconnected the wiring (or when it got cut) you may have shorted out the transformer. Good luck and if all else fails, CALL A PROFESSIONAL!

You need a new furnace, and a new air conditioner. Might need new siding on the house too...
You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel...

Had the usuall amount this yr of svc calls to repair the weed eaten dog knawed condenser wires along with the popped fuses or shorted out controls.

Im big on installing in-line fuses on the condenser wire when were there to prevent a reoccurance of smoked controls.

He must of zapped himself since we haven't heard anything else out of him. Most likely stuck his tongue on the high voltage wires instead of using a volt meter.

1.Put the old thermostat back on the wall
    2.Turn off "all" the breakers.
    3. Hand the phone book to your brother,so he can call someone qualified to repair it (without killing himself).
    4. Sit down and have a beer with your bro till the guy arrives.
    5. "Quietly" observe what the technician does to correct the problem.
    6. Store the fix in your memory for use when you are no longer an hvacapprentice.
    7. Get in your car and go home, while thanking the lord that your still alive.
    8. Refuse all future repair jobs until you become qualified.
