Sounds like the thing was a cluster#$&# from the start. The government, his honor the mayor, her honor the Guv, everyone. We're hearing of so many offers to help. One big shot in the reserves in one of the southern states had 4 rescue choppers ready to roll immediately but he couldn't get approval. Newsweek had great info on it, I hear Time did too. I think we'll be very upset as more comes to light about the help these victims could have had if various government agencies and personnell hadn't stood in the way.

Mistakes were made. No matter who's actual fault it was that mistakes were made, a person in the position that Brown is in cannot afford to falter.

Nagi definitaly made some grievous errors as did the LA governor. Protocol was not followed and federal agency leaders did not take the initiative to override the lower leaders by taking the ball and running with it. There is a case of the pawn failing to do its job and everyone from him to the bishop got waylayed. I think in this case the king did well in taking charge where so many under him failed.

Being on the bottom rung of the ladder all we really know is what they tell us. They=Media, Gov, and Powers that be. The crumbs that fall from the table.

I don't see President Bush as the type that would use someone as a scape goat. If the President is not defending Brown, I would say it is a safe bet that Brown did not react as well as the President expected him to react.

President Bush was quite vocal about how "unacceptable" the rescue of flood victims was. Brown was quickly removed from his position of authority and replaced by others who acted swiftly to make up for lost actions. Among the Brown "cleanup" crew is VP Cheney who, say what you will, is a man of action.

And yet another unsubstantiated bashing of our president.

People like G Teenet (CIA director) were given awards Post invasion of Iraq even though the intelligence regarding WMD's was false.

Unsubstantiated? Mr.Tennet told the president "finding WMD's would be a slam dunk" and there were terrorists links with Saadam. We found no WMD's and no terrorists links and don’t forget he was running the CIA 9/11. Simply put Mr. Tennet and the CIA did not do that great a job protecting the country
And yet Mr. Bush awarded him and others the Medal of Freedom.
    I standby my statement.

The facts allow for the criticism of the president in this regard.
