I was replacing the condenser coil on a 5 ton Bard unit (one of the vertical package units) and when I popped the plastic plugs off, a bit of oil dribbled out of the condenser. I have replaced quite a few of these coils and hadn't seen that before.
A nitrogen purge indicated that there was just that initial dribble but I did a R11 flush on the coil just to make sure
Any idea what kind of oil that was? Was this just a manufacturing oversite? I know oil is used when they "press" these things together.
Makes me paranoid about the ones I didn't flush. It probably wasn't enough to be a issue but...
