R22 units are still phased out, however, American Standard and Tempstar are now shipping unit "dry" (no charge) and allowing certified Tech's to charge them with R-22 in the field. Just a handy little work around the EPA rules.

i was at a recent manufactures presentation and as he ended he left us with the news that 410a will be phased out in the future not immediatley, and manufactures are working on other gases propane / hydrocarbon is the front runner. in new model vehicles 134a is now being replaced in europe and in usa the new gas has epa approval , hfo-1234yf is coming , and as others have said the wiki article is BS.

It's been and still is my opinion that 410a will be short lived.

It's been in use for 15 years. What do you consider short lived? It'll be at least 10 years after it is eventually announced before R410a will actually start to go away. I'll probably be drooling on some hot nurse in an old age home by the time it actually happens.

it's not just A/S and Tempstar that are doing this. just about all manufacturers are.
