Thread: unit leaking

    started new unit today had it running about 1 hour turnd set point up to cycle unit off went outside checked cond. went back in found indoor unit leaking thur ceiling dont know why

    Only one thing causes an indoor unit to leak.....water not taking the correct path out of the building.
    If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.

    leaking unit

    when i opened unit very little water in cond pan it also has a cond pump witch had pumped outside saw the ground was wet when i check cond shut down

    over flow drain pan should have caught the water

    unit is a 38tkb60 carrier horizotal left no over flow pan brand new unit just started checking press. temp and charge check for level chscked pump has power and worked trap installed by manufact.specs pitched toocond. pump ran unit for one hour with no water leak not to shut down

    O.K. if water is flowing outside, that means the drainpan plug was removed. I've seen this on horizontal units we had.....check your static pressures/ airflow, as water will blow off the coil into the evap unit and then leak out.
    If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.
