I'm replacing a 15 year old 1st floor AC/Gas Furnace. I'm looking at Trane and Carrier in the 13 and 14 Seer configurations.
My existing system (a ruud) has an aprilaire bypass style humidifier. I've read recent research which indicates that mold spores and other allergins (I'm highly alergic) will not grow below 50 or 40% relative humidity. If this is the case, why would I want to re-install and/or replace my humidifier in my new HVAC system?
All pros and cons are appreciated!
PS: I'm in Raleigh, NC which is a 60% cooling / 40% heating climate with pretty high humidity in summer, and modestly low humidity in winter.
