AC not cooling...
That was the call I got, and found this package unit completely stripped of all the copper. The home owner insisted that it was my problem, not hers, and that it was my responsibility to replace the unit for FREE according to "THE LAW" because she had Asthma and couldn't breathe because of the heat and she had a new born baby suffering from the heat as well. I've never dealt with this lady before, and I will not again. Didn't charge her for the service call, and recommended that she call the police and her insurance company. She thought I was ripping her off by telling her she needed a new unit, so I just packed up my tools and left. I think I really ticked her her off when I said "M'am, you have a wonderful day", she just started cursing me at the top of my lungs as I drove away lol.

Free unit, it's the law.
You in a heap o trouble now boy!
That must be a new law enacted Friday morning.
And honestly, she still owes you for a service call.
Absolutely no reason she couldn't have stepped outside, and looked to see if the unit was even running.
Besides stupidity that is.

Call her back, give here a really good price (maybe 1/2 the cost of the unit) to replace the unit. When she calls you back to install it refuse to do business with her because she cussed you out.
Karst means cave. So, I search for caves.

One of my wifes friends called yesterday, after hours. Drain problem. She expected me to repair it for free! She started yelling at her, when she found out that ain't gonna happen. Some people.

I won't do business with friends or family Because it just causes problems when things go wrong (and it always goes wrong)..
I was at my sisters home yesterday when I noticed something wrong with one of her AC unit. I asked her for a second of her time and showed her what the problem was, then I said you need to get your repair man out here as soon as possible before this becomes a big issue.
My brother is building a new home and he asked me to do the AC work for him, I said no I can't do it but I can give you the name a few good companies that can help you.
why, because I want to make something on it. Then he will never feel I did not save him enough money, and he will get insulted that I charged him too much, then get mad that I made a bad brand selection, and blame me for ever little problem and expect me to fix it for free.
NO THANKS!
Work is Work, Friends are Friends, Family is Family, and Business is Business,
I keep it separate. The opinions expressed by me are not that of my employer.

Couldn't agree more. This same woman, asked back in the winter what we charged. It was too much for her. So, she called someone else. That was for the heating season. This same company, was out less than a month ago, to repair a drain problem of all things. My wife suggested she call them again. She did, and they're not goin' back for some strange, unknown reason.
I work to put vittles on the table, not because I like to work.
