Old Slang Words You Still Use

I'm a dinosaur I guess. I still use some of these old slang words. Not every day, but fairly often. Here's a few.

Shut your pie hole, or shut your soup cooler Shut your mouth

    A babe A woman

Behind the eight ball In a difficult position

    A "C" note A hundred dollar bill

A "Fin" A five dollar bill

    A roscoe A gun

There's a few more, but these were the first ones I could think of.

Anybody else? Or is it just me?

I "dial" a number when I want to call somebody.

    I watch the "tube".

    I "turn" the channel.

    I "turn" up the heating.

I "crank" the starter in my car and "roll" down the windows.

The old saying "I'll break him from sucking eggs" In the old days out in the country everyone had a hen house and if a dog ever got inside a hen house and broke an egg then he was ruined. The only thing you could do was shoot the dog. You could never break a dog from trying to break into the hen house and breaking and sucking the eggs out. "Yeah I'll break him from sucking eggs"

you would make that comment about someone who was always "getting over" so to speak. Thank you, thank you very much
"I could have ended the war in a month. I could have made North Vietnam look like a mud puddle."
"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution."
