So tell me why you think you are qualified to call yourself a professional?

because if i could make the same amount of money, bagging grocery for old ladies, i would still work on these damn mechanical systems.
because every time i do something, i wonder how it could have been done better, even though noone else saw a mistake.

Because for the knowledge I have and for the things I can do people feel the need to give me money and there for I must accept it and hence like all other professions I become a member of such said group, in this case HVAC; HVAC professional.
Plus because I wonder why when I see a piece of HVAC equipment it wasnt made as good as it could have been or made to the best of an individuals or groups abilities so I must put forth that very effort to suceed where others fail.

Because I don't do it for free.
Because I do it for my living.
Because people pay me to repair, replace, or install new heating and cooling systems for them.
How bout you?

Because my boss essentially pays me for what I know, not what I do.
Sure I do a lot, but I have to know what to do 1st.
