    No don't move the thermostat.
    1)Have a/c serviceman(tech) check the evaporator coil.
    2)Have the tech.check airflow and make sure dampers are not closed.Balance the airflow with dampers.
    3) Have him check fan speed.(low /or high)
    4) check for leaky return air ductwork.
    5)Check superheat/sub-cooling/T.D.>

    Do not move the thermostat and go with the other items aircooled53 has mentioned. One thing to add to the check list is to see if there is heat coming in from behind the thermostat from the hole where the thermostat wire enters.
