Bought one today for myself. Felt like one of those Home Depot customers that shows up here. Are they any good?

I have one in my house. It works fine, very easy to program. I was impressed enough by this stat's appearance and performance that when my last gig wanted to replace their Heinz 57 mixture of 23 thermostats to initiate a nightly setback routine, I pushed for the 8321 stats. Being that I had 23 split systems, 19 of which were heat pumps with the remainder straight cooling/electric heat, the convenience of needing only one stat for both system types was a big bonus.

    You've made a good purchase.
    • Electricity makes refrigeration happen.
    • Refrigeration makes the HVAC psychrometric process happen.
    • HVAC pyschrometrics is what makes indoor human comfort happen...IF the ducts AND the building envelope cooperate.

A building is NOT beautiful unless it is also comfortable.

Yes...thanks. I got it up and going and I like it. All touch screen. Sucker lights up the hall. There is all kinds of things it will do. I like the on screen RH % I guess the outdoor thermometer is a easy to get option.

I have one, and been very happy with it.. Easy to program,, good temp control,

Best of all is the fan "CIRC".

I like the fan program, run "AUTO" in the day, CIRC overnight.

I have the common hooked up, and yeah it's a great night light. :-)

I've been tempted for teh remote sensor.

We install more of these than any other... I like them a lot. As it was said, easy to program, and has more features on it than the Space Shuttle.

I'd like to hear of any problems people have had with them, as they haven't been out that long. And would like to hear of the failure rates.

Until then, I usually talk people into this stat.

They make 2 kinds, one is cheaper if ya don't need all the staging in it.

Also like the T5000 unit, good for zone valve, fossil fuels, etc. It's buttons are on the perimiter and are 'tactile'. but works well, and is back lit - only good for single stage ops though.

Nice and small... often requires a wall repaint - but most customers don't mind that.

Did you replace that old brown T-87 in your house yet Dice? I replaced a few A/C's this summer for folks with boilers. Customers liked the fact that they went from 2 thermostats to 1. I like the Focus Pro too, for old people.
