Possible Upgrade to Delta Controls Stat RTS-406?

I am servicing a hotel that has an old Delta Controls system in it. It has about 90 rooms in it all with the Delta RTS-406 themostat. Many of the thermostats are failing, plus they are ulgly old things.

Does Delta make another thermostat that will directly replace this antique? Will the DNS-24 line work?

What communication protocol do the RTS-406 thermostats work on?

    Thanks for any help

    Rick

It appears that the RTS-406 is an obsolete zone sensor for Delta V2 system. It uses a different protocol than the DNS-24. There is a replacement RTS-242 (which uses the DNS-24 hardware) that uses the correct protocol for replacement. Also note that the RTS-406 uses 8VDC to power it where as the RTS-242 uses 24VAC. You might have to revise the programming in the controller as well.

Just to add to Kontrol's post. The replacement is actually the RTS-424. As was already stated you will need a seperate power source.
