This will probably change but with the temp up, the service calls are actually down. Most of the people that do call just want to ask questions. I have plenty of trim out work on new stuff but the quick and easy just doesn't seem to be around. Guess it is just my time. That $3,200 Yellow Page add looks like a waste right now.

I do some high end stuff. But I like the fast and easy and cash. It was just not there in July of all months. I guess everyone has their turn. I was gonna buy myself a jet ski for my birthday next month with the cash.

    James,

Just the normal up and downs of this business. Do some direct mail to your existing customers for furnace tune ups. Mail them out the day following Labor Day, that will make the phone ring!

Ok, so you're in Georgia I didn't know that. But, let me tell you, we send out post card reminders to all of our customers spring and fall, the amount of business that it drives in the door is awesome.

    What's a heat pump????

The post card thing does work! Been sending them spring and fall for years. Next thing you know it's the next season. Sometimes before you're even ready.

If I did not work another day this year it would not matter. It's just that I was poor for so long.

    You and me both.
My year sucked till this heatwave finally kicked in and stayed, things picked up pretty good for me.
My theory is you will get the work you are going to get, in time, just hang in there and enjoy the slow times.
But ya do get antsy after a while, I know.
What happened to your nationwide effort to water all the dried out plants, that should keep ya busy??

    James

Am in similar boat here in Bama. Worst july we have ever had, august not looking too good either. Of course, I have never seen the amount of rain that we have had this summer, & temps are just not what they normally are around here.
But as they say, it comes with the territory...
    Will get better

I just cleared my machine. I always play back everything first. Eleven minutes of basically people saying they had a question, wanting up front pricing and a woman wanting my dog to screw hers. .

Getting a lot more of this now with people just wanting to talk. People wanting counseling and for me to fix their stuff over the phone. None of it is productive.

On the bright side Kramer is about to get some.
