    Hello...I just wondered if it was possible to use a 3 ton condenser on a 4 ton evaporator coil? What are the consequences of doing this? Thanks. Jason

    Oversized coil runs warmer, lower latent capacity and more humidity. Common on higher SEER but only do it if mfr. approves and rates that way and use appropriate piston. Better off using smaller coil & TXV to get higher SEER. If not using matching coil, who knows what you'll end up with other than higher humidity.
