05-16-2011, 09:52 PM #41Yeah, nothing would prevent that.
Probably more people would put something helpful in than not.
Maybe explain in the rules how necessary it is. Then for those that didn't, it would quickly tell us the type of person they are, then we could elect not to help.Which makes more sense to you?
CONSERVATION - turning your thermostat back and being uncomfortable. Maybe saving 5-10%
ENERGY EFFICIENCY - leaving your thermostat where everyone is comfortable. Saving 30-70%
DO THE NUMBERS! Step on a HOMESCALE.
What is comfort? Well, it AIN'T just TEMPERATURE!
Energy Obese? An audit is the next step - go to BPI.org, or RESNET, and find an auditor near you.

The new site stuff will be good IMO. Yeah, we all have a time with change... however never changing things is worse IMO.
I am looking forward to the AOP forum... this will IMO resolve the grey area of 'no diy' yet it happens...
THX to Dave, the mods, and all the folks that make H-talk a fun and helpful tool for the HVACR industry.

05-20-2011, 12:08 PM #46Update on the update.
IT still hasn't gotten us a date yet. We are still in a holding pattern.

05-22-2011, 10:10 PM #48Thanks for all the Hard work you have put into this site! Thanks
05-25-2011, 08:40 AM #49Seems we are still in this obscure holding pattern. I haven't been given a reason why. I'm working on it and trying to get a date.
Sorry for the delay.

THX Dave!
My vote: I would rather you guys take your time and get it right before rolling it out. Rather than like some manufacturers that do their R&D in the field at the customer's expense...
Yeah, H-talk is free to techs... however the time aggravation of fiddling with a something that does not work right is not worth it to me.
So take your time guys, we appreciate what you do for our industry.GA-HVAC-Tech
