The new Lennox is keeping the old Lennox warm...

The old Choo Choo is keeping the deck warm...

We replaced it and moved to the other side of the house, with nothing over it!

It blows my mind that anyone would ever consider installing something in that manner.

That's pretty. So are the two disconnects in the first picture, hanging on by the last anchor. Actually, the one looks like it's still up from the hanging strap on the whip.

Why put it under that platform? It's not going to shield it from anything. They even raised it with bricks...and to leave the old unit there...classic. Think they pulled a vacuum after installing the new unit?

About 25 more bricks under each leg and everything should be fine on that double decker Lennox setup.

Top Lennox was on, no back on it though.

My guess is deck was built over the Choo Choo. Pretty hacked house. Furnace was DOWNFLOW in basement! We didn't change it, just replaced the cooling system.

I'd bet the original AC's were of the side discharge design. I've seen a lot of those. When you replace, most new ones are top, so you can't stack them anymore...or can you?
I guess, if they're heat pumps, and the bottom one is heating, the top one may work pretty well...

That seems like the mentality of a lot of people I've worked beside and talked to. I'm happy I've haven't seen any of it come through the shop lately.

If you put one in heat mode and one in cool, does it become a cascade system?

This is drama unfolding. the Old lennox has dominated the roost for years, and simply refuses to give way to the young lennox "pup". Thus, he sits on the young lad to make him show respect. Classic text book jealousy.
