The easiest way would be to use the software provided by the board manufacturer...like gigabyte easy tune etc.
Take your time & do it right!

You can put "overclock" in the search box and get about five or six threads to read.I did that but didnt find the one I was looking for. So,try some other keywords...

There was one old thread that explained it...somewhere.

please realize that anytime you overclock a processor, you WILL produce more heat. you need to be sure you have ample cooling in your case.

also, do you know if your motherboard has a resetable bios? it is helpful because if something doesn't boot up after o.c'ing, then you can reset it to it's factory settings, and try again.

    Don't do it unless..

    you have time to tweak.

You have to mess with your FSB(front side bus),and multiplyers.

I've played with it quite a bit.
In the long run I've gone back to stock speeds.

Are you doing this for gaming performance?
Get a benchmark program and see the diff. before/after.

You're better off getting more memory and a beefier video card.
Most of the time the gains aren't worth the hassle...unless you are bored.
    (my crappy opinion) good luck

The new P4s put out way too much heat at stock speeds - don't bother.

Not mine, I just needed a BFH pic and knew there must be one on eBay.
