    What is the typical r value of class 1 flex duct?

    Next question...(insert sarcasm here) Why don't I already know this?

    There are 3 that i know of.
    r-4.2
    r-6
    r-8
    in my area,san jose,ca. 4.2 is required.

    well I checked at about five houses (family, friends, etc.) to see what got put in their houses plus I got my butt down in my crawl space and checked out mine. It seems that the r value that was going in these houses in Indy was 6.

    Now I need to check out the r value for attics.
