Whoa! Just missed the Marine Barracks bombing.
No reserve. No retreat. No regrets.

For those who have fought for it, freedom has a sweetness the protected will never know.

Navy for over 8 years from 1987-1995. Served on the USS Nevada, the USS Houston & Fleet Combat Training Center, Pacific; I'm still in the Navy Reserves assigned to NCHB-11, I was with NCHB-14 prior to that; went to Iraq/Kuwait for a spell.

    Coast Guard.

The ship I sailed on served in Viet Nam, Korea, and WWII (in Hawaii on 12/7/1941), but that all was before I was there.

    One more thing.........

My old ship is still floating.... out front of the hotel that the convention is at, in Baltimore Inner Harbor.

Go aboard her, Paul is the museum curator. Tell him I sent you.

Not too long ago, some of you guys helped me look for some burners for her steam boilers. We discovered that there ain't none.

    Paul wrote this piece...
