GPRS Modem JACE
Never used one, don't even have a price as of yet....
Anyone tried this avenue yet? and "if" so...
What say you ???

They are quite inexpensive.
We have had one on the bench for a while but havent had time to finish setting it up. We do know of others who have used them with success.
GPRS will frequently change IP address. Dunno why, they just do.
Requires either dyndns or a little ProgramAgent to go find the public IP address and email it out.
...unless somebody has a workaround1 + 1 = 3 ( *** for very large values of 1)

Typical Connection Speeds
• Download Speed: 30-60K Bps
• Upload Speed: 10-15K Bps
I believe that's KiloBytes per second.
Upload speed is what matters, since you'll be requesting data from the JACE more so then sending data to it.
10 KBps = 0.078125 megabits per second
or about 80 Kbps, which is a little bit faster than a 56Kbps modem.
In other words... it's slow.

Have a friend that tried them and said only in a real super bind. He got to looking around and found these guys http://www.clear.com/ and yes that is the same company that is set up across from Tridium in Richmond. Guy swears by them says its blazing fast and alot of times faster than the internet at his office.
