Putting an eotech w/ 3x magnification on it sometime down the road. Changing the muzzle break, foregrip, and stock. Add a side rail to it for the eotech to mount on.

If you haven't tried a kingarmory muzzle break you don't know what you are missing.
I had one (sold gun) on my 7mm mag and it was amazing. It didn't kick as hard as my AR does.
Joey is a great guy also... Been shooting with him many times.

Nice! I did put the utg fore end on my romanian ( It is built like a tank and really nice). I also put a tapco fore grip on the rail, did a tapco collapsable stock (which is whatever) and bought a few of the tapco "plastic mags" which are great! Theres so much you can do with the ak's.

As far as 12ga shottys go, how is it shooting one with a pistol grip compared to standard? Will it rip your hand off?

pistol grip only or pistol grip with a shoulder stock.
pistol grip only is cool as all get out but I don't like it. It can be a handful especially when using heavy loads. And when you are in a "panic" situation like somebody breaking in, you want all the wits about you that you can have.
With a shoulder stock of some sort it is very functional.
Having said that, if you are just interested in home defense, get a regular old Remmy or Mossy and call it good.

If it works for the army it works for me. Besides the take down for cleaning is better than the 500's. So I vote for the mossberg model 590a1 shotgun.
And never rack the slide to scare someone. You give up the element of surprise and show yourself to be armed. It is about the worst possible move you could make.

I keep all my "go to" guns loaded. If they are not on me they are locked away in a safe but they are loaded.
Do you know how many people a year die from guns that they didn't think were loaded?
I thought it was empty" "I thought it was unloaded"
I also ONLY let trusted friends handle my guns.

I keep a Remington 870 Express with the 18" barrel, pistol grip, surefire tac light on the fore end, and the M4 style collapsable stock. Keep it loaded with #1 Buckshot. Matter fact I don't think I keep an unloaded firearm in the house....lol.
