temp probe?

I have a dial gauge, digital gauge and a expensive digital multi tester. put all three in a glass of ice water to see which one is accurate. dial guage reading is 34*, digital gauge say's 32* and multitester gauge reads 30*. which is closest to the correct temp?

well I think I can help you eliminate one of your pieces of test equipment. If you put your digital multimeter in water---you ruined it

mac multi tester has the same wire probe as fluke.
I didn't dunk the tester in the water just the probe.

If the glass is about half ice, and well mixed (keep stiring while the probe is in) it should be 32 deg: just keep the probe in the water near the bottom of the glass, not on the ice (you can use a weight like a fishing sinker to hold it down).....

If all the probes were in exactly the same spot for a period of time, they would probably read 32 but they were not and so cannot.
