Installed a Payne condenser today, pulled vacuum and opened the valves, unit had no charge, pump it up with some Nitro and it holds, no audible leaks so I break out the DTEK, goes nuts near the top of the coil, covered the entire area in bubbles and nothing, finally got pissed so I cut it loose and took it back, noticed the data plate looked different, smaller numbers than usual, and proudly displayed at the bottom was "Made in Mexico", I guess they moved the factory down there around the first of the year, the brazing job on the fittings in this unit looked like a child did it, hopefully the replacement is better.
