How do I keep from going crazy for the 6 weeks I'm out of work??

Heh, It's not for lack of work at the shop... I sprained my knee and after the ortho specialist looked at it, he realized I also have a very tiny crack in the tibia (I think that's the bone... )
So, I'm off it for 6 weeks.

Furthering your education in the trade.
Picking up an additional things like studying controls or something which interests you.
Pursuing a hobby.
Reading some good books.
Spending time with the family.
Writing letters.
More time online right here!
Maybe get a cert like NATE or ICE ... whatever

Jay if you can get up a go pee, go back to work and offer to do paper work for the boss, as long as he doesnt have to carry to the rest room he would most likely take you up on offer.

I would offer to go to the office, but it's an hour and a half away, and I can barely make it in and out of the truck with the leg brace.
What are some decent books I can check out at the library? (If I can get the wife to cart my butt over there; I can't drive my car because I kinda need the left foot for that..) Buying them isn't much of an option right now, I barely make enough to scratch by as it is. Hopefully we'll be able to survive on the worker's comp for the month and a half
As far as spending time with the family, I'm afraid that's what will probably drive me insane

Have the wife go to a hobby shop and buy you some model cars, planes, boats whatever and paints and glues and start a short term hobby. I love building model cars.
