    church capacitor

So im doing some start ups on some Fume hoods at a school we are trying to finish up...the T&B comes to me and tells me that one of the fan coil units has a popped fuse in the heater and that he is done other than that.... I open the heater and figure out what fuse i need and replace it, flip the disconnect and wait for the call for cooling. About 5 seconds later i hear the fan try to run but it sounds like a car with a dead battery, after popping the panel off i notice there is a hole in the capacitor cover for the evap fan, after taking the cover off this is what i see...

no wonder it had a blown fuse, he drilled all the way through when doing his T&B

I would say he is very lucky he didn't hit a freon line !!!!!! You would think that they would look a lttle closer before they drill holes on any unit so that they wouldn't get a blast of freon. I bet if they ever did they would look closer before they drill any more holes.

well luckily for him it was just a 1 1/2 ton fan coil unit for a 50 ton chiller...he would have just gotten some stiff nipples...
