    Hello:

I'm looking for a maker of a side-exhaust condenser in the 3-4 ton range. I want to locate the unit under a deck where a top-exhaust unit would not be appropriate. My installer mentioned Trane, but didn't have details. On the Trane website, I've been unable to find any side-exhaust units. In fact, I've checked the websites of other makes (Carrier, etc. and not found any side-exhaust units anywhere. Any pointers would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Larry

    Hello:

Thanks for the responses. However, I can only find info on the Bard units. Nothing on the websites of Bryant or Carrier. Perhaps they made side exhaust units in the past but not currently? Or perhaps their full line of units is not on the sites.

    Thanks, Larry

The bryant & carrier web site probly don`t list them. I`m installing the 538 bryants know & the carrier model start with 38hdc series.Look for a carrier or bryant contractor in your area & have them check for you.

They are under the ductfree split section of Carrier's commercial website.

Has anyone slapped one of the ductless condensing units on a traditional split AHU? If so, what were the results?

Used ductless split, horizontal discharge condensing units with regular AHUs and fan coils. Works easier with less fuss if the expansion device is not in the condensing unit.
The way we build has a greater impact on our comfort, energy consumption and IAQ than any HVAC system we install.
