Jeez you Americans like your political differences... to the point where you'll bring a dog into the issue... or magnetic refrigerator door seals...

Only two parties to choose from....

We here up north have six or nine.... no... 29 political influences to choose from. And the only one that made sense was the Rhino Party.... They Wanted to ban the buisness suit... and make a ramp on the East coast high enough to 'coast' downhill to the West coast... and vice-versa... so that you could "Coast, from coast to coast."

What the hell does the word Democrat actually mean?

I'm surprised to hear that clear thinking US buddies down south of HVAC/R persuasion... actually even remotely THINKS politics in any way.

Unless you have a US version of the Rhino party...
Teach the apprentices right... and learn from their questions and ideas.

We have more then 2 parties, there's just no real choice coming from them though. Come to think of it, we in the U.S. have not really had any good "choices" is several elections. We have become accustomed to voting against the one we really don't want to be our leader.

The problem is when the kid panics even when the door has a magnetic gaskets. Suddenly he/she is in the dark. There is not a handle on the inside. So being scared, alone and in the dark they don't know any better to push against a door.

Then there has been cases when a 4 or 5 year old opened the door for their 18 mo. old brother or sister. Close the door and not knowing the dangers just walks away and starts playing with something else. All innocents.

Nah Bennie, What makes you a Dem is that you cared that some kid might get stuck in a reffer. A republican would lobby to change the laws so they wouldn't get stuck with liability.

This crap of passing laws and not allowing so many things to be shown on TV is the reason we have our ladders wallpapered with things not to do with a ladder and why electric appliances have labels on them warning us not to use them while we are asleep or in the bathtub.

The fact is that all of the warnings and stifeling of visual aids for wrong doing are not going to prevent stupid people from doing stupid things. All warning labels, laws and censoring of activities does is protect those who may be liable due to liberal legal actions taken against anyone involved with a product that a stupid person did something stupid with.

Take a look at some Three Stooges, Keystone Kops and Laurel and Hardy shows sometimes and tell me why everyone over 40 isn't brain dead from being hit in the head so many times.

The more we attempt to protect our children from understanding how to act withing common sense the more we stifle their common sense and the more likely it is that they are going to do something stupid.

You do make a good point there Robo.

It is just that you never know what is going to trigger a kid to do something stupid. Like playing with matches.

Of course common sense tells an adult not to leave matches where children can get them. But what can you do with a refrigerator? All you can do is tell your kid not to go into a refrigerator or you can die.

"Well why did the man on TV go into the refrigerator???"

Maybe if yor are lucky enough to be asked the question by your youngter you can say. "Because he is stupid."

I guess this particular situation means more to me because it hit so close to home. If my wife had opened that refrigerator a hour or two later it could have been a whole nother story.
