nice ..... isent there apposed to be pick up traps when you run it that high? or is it shorter then the pic makes it

ive always wondered about the traps. i thought u needed traps if the OD unit was above the ID coil. If someone could please guide me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. We've done more installs like this and the equipment has lasted 20 years with no compressor problems. so i guess its ok? that is about 25-30' vertical run. my 32' ladder extended to the top of the roof

Because R-410A and POE oilmix so well together, oil-trap
installation is generally not required on R-410A systems.

Carrier recomends a trap in the suction line if its 20 ft or higher.

If anything, run the lines up a bit out of the attic air handler so that during the off cycle, liquid from the coil doesn't flow downhill to the compressor. Trap in the suction line is for condenser above evap.

I lived in a 3rd floor apartment briefly in the early 80s. When my A/C ( ground) came on, it sounded like a machine gun going off for a few seconds as the old Copeland cleared out the liquid!

yes. the tubing is higher then the evap coil then goes down vertical and bends into it
