Replaced an old Chrysler Air Temp system, I believe the model # was CH 1265, could someone possbly tell me what size the old one was.
Replaced it with a Rheem 3.5No Heat No Cool You need Action Fast

I got a simular one to replace, how do you decifer there model numbers

Hi Terry, the 5 would indicate a 5 ton. Not sure what the code is beyond that. Those that start 126X were 6-7 SEER and they had a line in 1977 anyway that were 129X and 7-8 SEER.

Thanks that is what I thought. The customer still had the original installation manual it started at 1261, 1262, 1263,
1264, and 1265. I couldn't figure out what the 1261 was, I thought 1262 2 ton,,1263 3 ton....etc, but couldn't figure out what the 1261 was, so it confused me a little. No number on the compressor.

Oddly the Carrier blue book shows a 1265-00 as 45,000 btus,1968 to 1970,and a 1265-02,46 and 47000,1971 and 1972.Then a 1265-03,46,47,45,and 45,1973 thru1977.
Then in 1978,a 12650cq or cr as 56,000.
So depending on suffix,could be any of the above,if the book is correct.
