why no offset in the return air drop instead of angeling the duct to it?

the return duct is mitered. i dont know why i didnt make an offset. i actually measured up the job, installed it, and doing maintenance on it. that piece of duct is original from when the house was built. probably didnt make an offset because it was going to hook right back up to the next box without modification.

haha. on the ductwork i put foil tape to cover up the old marker showing which way to turn the dampers for summer/winter. they were marked wrong. as far as the flue goes. didnt have a 6x6x4 tee.
