Thread: non stop compressor

my compressor does not stop when the temp is reached and the fan stops. When the fan is on(not auto)the temp continues to drop. Does the thermostat need to be replaced?

you have a problem...call a service tech to have it checked

shut off the fuse or circuit breaker to the outdoor unit and call for service. if the outdoor unit is running without the indoor fan running, serious damage can occur to the compressor

Agree with above posts...shut off immediately and call for service.Should be a simple fix, but not for a DIY.
If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.
