I want to add a compressor blanket to my Trane XR11, and I stop by Larson Co, and he couldn't find anythign off hand in the books.. He looked it up in the XLi lines, and didn't see a part # for the blanket. It was pretty busy, and he would look into it more and get back to me..

Has anyone added one to a unit?? What's the Parts#? or is there an aftermarket line?

I would have to see hard and fast numbers to back up the claim that a sound blanket is anything but a profit maker for the manufacturer. I've listened to the operation with and without blankets and just can't tell the difference. I'm becoming partially deaf however.

There's 1/2 a blanket wrapped around the comp, isn't there?

Anyway, what size is the unit? I'll get you the number for a genuine orange cover. Dang dealernet is down now.

    Hey, I got it up

for a 3 ton comp, with approx 15" dia and 17" height, use ATT00116. Smaller comp (1.5 to 2.5 ton) with approx 13" dia and 16" height is ATT00163. 4 ton which is just a hair larger is ATT00164.

I am not sure if there is?? Didn't know there was such thing as a 1/2 one? I haven't really looked that close,, I know I don't see anything on top..

    It's a 2 ton , and I use ATT001163 then?

What did you use to get it up??? heheh The Magic V?

Remember how small the 2 ton is. Might be a real challenge squeezing a blanket around the comp without blocking airflow in the unit.

Ok, I called GA Larson Co, gave him the # and they can order it..

I removed the fan grill (nice thing about the new line easier to get at) and look to see if there is a 1/2 a balnket, and there is nothing.

There's room to slide this blanket over.. Just one area maybe tight, otherwise, plenty of room.
