    Tempstar unit m#-tca430, 14 SEER unit with 3 ton txv indoor coil, 15 foot lineset. pressures on system are 75/200, subcooling is 14*F, superheat is 7*F, liquid line temp is 87*F, suction line temp is 56*F. does it seem like this unit is operating properly??

    low cooling

    overfeeding refrigerant or overcharged.if overfeeding head pressure willbe slightly lower than normal.if overcharged head pressure can be sky high 5-10 superheat overfeeding or overcharged.

    Hey Joe,how long has the unit been on?
    Did you insulate the bulb?
    Sometimes there are compounding complexities of multiple variables that are not intuitively obvious

    units been on for 3 7 days, bulb is not insulated. I am having this debate in another post about the insulated txv. That post was from today, go ckeck it out. I think that is the problem too

    75 suction pressure and 56 degree suction line give you approx 12 degrees of superheat, how'd you come out with 7?
    Anyhoots, what's your temp drop?
    Is this a replacement unit of same size as original? 2.5 ton
    Big leaps get you there faster, small steps keep you there longer.
