Does anyone have an opinion on Goodman units? I have had two units in a row with bad compressors. I am just wondering if its a fluke and I am have bad luck or if they are just a bad unit all around.

For the most part yeah. If I have to replace a unit I have to get it aproved. And for that to happen it has to be cheap. Thats what Goodman is Cheap

Something is probably wrong with the install. Have a reputable company come out and evaluate your systems. You have something causing the problem and if not repaired you could put the most expensive compressor in the world back in and it will also be doomed to a short life. Are these units hanging upside down from the rafters or something LOL

Sounds more like a piss-poor install than an equipment problem. Goodman uses a quality Copeland compressor....so how can you blame these failures on Goodman? Check for acid in the system,poor airflow,overcharge,or another error. Those compressor's didn't just fail. One maybe....two uh-uh.
If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.
