Tech came out Saturday (about 92 degrees at the time) and installed a Supco SP6 super boost on the Carrier and we fired up the diesel generator and started the A/C and it fired right up. An amp meter showed the unit to be drawing 11 amps while running. Not sure what the surge was while starting with the super boost installed. Prior to the super boost installation the diesel generator would not start the air conditioner. This agreed well with the RV crownd adding start capacitors to small A/C units with small gasoline generators.

Thanks to all who made suggestions on how to get the unit running in prior threads.
