looks like you had an ice maker installed for the wrong application, like someone else said, chip off the ice as needed and use for a refreshing beverage.

its amazing what some people will do, sorry I forgot, did you install this "air Conditioning" yourself

what was I thinking all this time, the solution is/could-be obvious.
Call a service tech and have him check the refrigerant level in your system. Make sure you dont let him check for leaks, it will end up costing you more and he wont get to come back every few months and visit for a while. dont worry about EPA guidelines or escaping refrigerant either, everyone knows thats a load a horse-hockey anyway

If thats not the problem, check the filters you have not seen since you purchased/built the home. They may be slightly heavier than new ones, or completely missing. In that case, check the coil, you dont need a tech for this, this is definately a diy project. Just use the biggest chisel and hammer you have to remove ice from the coils.

If that doesnt fix the problem, then i stand on my teleportation theory to the arctic.

From your credentials, I feel you might with a little help from this board of "EXPERTS" be able to solve this on yourself and avoid a service call. Time will tell!
